What Alex has to say...

This one’s brilliant.

BeWILDerwood is basically what happens when you remove screens, remove loud music, remove flashing arcade machines… and just let kids climb, explore and use their imagination.

It’s all wooden play structures, treehouses, rope bridges, slides and zip wires built into woodland. No plastic theme park chaos. No big rollercoasters. Just proper adventure play.

And it works.

Kids disappear into it. Properly disappear. Running from one climbing zone to another like they’re on some woodland mission. There are storytelling elements and characters wandering around, but it’s subtle. It doesn’t feel forced.

What I like most is the pace. It feels calmer than a lot of big attractions. Even when it’s busy, it doesn’t feel overwhelming.

It’s definitely more about climbing and exploring than rides. If your child expects rollercoasters, this isn’t that. If they love outdoor adventure and imaginative play, it’s spot on.

Price-wise, it’s not cheap. But you can easily spend 4–5 hours there and leave with properly tired kids.

Fresh air. Mud on shoes. Big smiles.

That’s a win.

FAQs

Is BeWILDerwood worth visiting?

Yes, especially if you’re looking for an outdoor, imaginative adventure park rather than a traditional theme park.

What sort of clothing should I wear for BeWILDerwood?

Wear sensible shoes and suitable clothes for running, jumping, climbing and swinging your day away. Basically, wear anything you don’t mind getting a bit grubby (that includes the adults too!) Skin should be covered, not only to keep out of sun on warm days, but to protect yourself on the slides.

How long do you need at BeWILDerwood?

4–5 hours comfortably. It’s easy to make a full half-day or more of it.

Does BeWILDerwood have rides?

Not traditional rides. It focuses on climbing structures, treehouses, zip wires and storytelling elements.

Is BeWILDerwood good in bad weather?

It’s mainly outdoors, so dry days are better. It can get muddy after rain.
