What Alex has to say...

This is one of those places that makes you think, “Why don’t we come here more often?”

Lower Leas Coastal Park in Folkestone is basically the perfect mix of beach, big open green space, and an absolutely brilliant adventure playground. And the best part?

It’s free.

The playground is genuinely one of the better ones around. Big structures. Slides. Climbing bits. Space for all ages. It’s not a token swing and a seesaw — it’s proper, well thought out, burn-energy-for-an-hour territory.

Then you’ve got the beach right there. Pebbly, yes. But great for exploring, rock pooling, or just wandering along the coast. Add in the amphitheatre, landscaped gardens, and loads of open space, and you’ve got a full half-day sorted without spending a fortune.

It feels safe. It feels open. It feels like the kind of place where kids can properly run around without you stressing every five seconds.

Is it glamorous? No.
Is it a brilliant, free family day out by the sea? Absolutely.

Sometimes the simple ones are the best ones.
