What Alex has to say...

Let’s start with the numbers.

£68 for a family of four.
That included my £2 locker.

Then once you’re inside, you’re on their tap-and-pay system. Hotdogs, burgers, chips - all the classic waterpark food. All priced like you’re at an airport.

So yes. It’s expensive. That’s why the pounds score is low.

Parking is also pretty expensive. The carpark next to Sandcastles (which I think is run by Blackpool council) set us back another £12 for 4 hours.

But…

The slides are genuinely good.

There’s a proper mix. Smaller slides and splash areas for younger kids, and bigger, faster rides for the braver ones, as long as they’re over 1.2m tall and 8 years old for the larger slides.

The big rides are the highlight. Proper fun. The kind where you come off laughing and slightly questioning your life choices.

They let people in every 30 minutes, which sounds organised… but it does mean the place just gradually gets busier and busier. If you can, book the earliest slot. Seriously. By mid-session, queues for some slides hit 30 minutes, and you’ve only got a 3-hour window in total.

The kids absolutely loved it. That’s the key bit.

We left exhausted. Properly knackered. But it was one of those “they’ll remember that” days.

Expensive. Busy. But undeniably good fun.

You typically get a 3-hour session, but we didn't see anyone telling us to get out after our time was up.

When is the best time to visit Sandcastle Waterpark?

Are queues long at Sandcastle Waterpark?

They can be. Some of the bigger slides can have 30-minute waits during busy periods.
