What Alex has to say...

Shepreth Wildlife Park is the kind of place where you say, “we’ll just pop in for a couple of hours”… and somehow you’re still there at closing time watching otters mess about.

You’ve got tigers (yes, actual big cats), meerkats doing meerkat things, lemurs leaping around, bats in the dark house, reptiles, weird and wonderful creatures, plus enough walking to justify the ice cream later.

It’s compact enough that you don’t need a survival plan, but big enough to feel like a proper day out. And it’s not just looking at animals through fences - there are keeper talks, feeding times and experiences if you want to level it up.

FAQs

What actually is Shepreth?

A proper wildlife park. Big cats. Otters. Lemurs. Reptiles. The lot. Not just goats in a field.

What age is it good for?

Toddlers through to teens. Adults pretend they’re there for the kids but spend half the time at the tiger enclosure.

How long should we allow?

2–4 hours comfortably. Longer if you stop for talks, food and “just one more look”.

Is it good in bad weather?

Some indoor houses (tropical, nocturnal), but it’s still mostly outdoors. Bring a coat if the forecast looks moody.

Can you do animal experiences?

Yep. You can book specific animal encounters if you fancy getting closer than the average visitor.
