What Alex has to say...

This one’s more about atmosphere than adrenaline.

Sherwood Forest is iconic. Robin Hood territory. Proper English woodland vibes. You’re not coming here for rides or attractions - you’re coming for fresh air, big trees, and a bit of imagination.

The Major Oak is the headline act. It’s huge. Ancient. Properly impressive when you see it in person. Kids like the idea that Robin Hood might’ve hung around here, even if they lose interest five minutes later and start climbing logs instead.

It’s mostly walking trails through woodland, so this is more of a relaxed, outdoorsy day. Good for letting kids roam (within reason), take bikes or scooters on certain paths, and burn off energy without queuing for anything.

It’s not flashy. It’s not a theme park. It’s nature.

And sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

If you pair it with a picnic and keep expectations simple, it’s a lovely few hours.
