What Alex has to say...

Up at The O2 is one of those experiences that looks wild from the ground but is surprisingly doable once you’re strapped in. You suit up, clip into the safety line, and walk up a bouncy, suspended walkway that takes you right over the top of The O2’s roof. It feels a bit like walking on a giant trampoline… only 52 metres in the air.

The climb is guided the whole way, so you’re never just wobbling around alone. Once you reach the top, you get full panoramic views across London - skyscrapers, the river, Canary Wharf glowing in the distance. Sunset climbs hit different; twilight ones feel like you’re floating above the city.

It’s not a long adventure, but it is a fun one - just enough thrill to make your legs feel alive, but not so extreme that you regret every decision that led you here. Good for families with older kids, date days, or anyone who wants a memorable “we actually did that” moment.

FAQs

Is it scary?

A little - mostly when you first step onto the walkway. Once you trust the harness, it becomes more “wow” than “help”.

Do you need to be fit?

Basic fitness is enough. It’s a steady uphill walk, not a mountaineering session.

How long does it take?

Around 90 minutes including gearing up and the climb itself.

What’s the best time to climb?

Sunset or twilight. Daytime is great for clear views, but the evening climbs are the most dramatic.

Is it worth it?

If you want something unique, quick, and a bit daring - yes. If you're expecting a huge adrenaline rush, it’s more “fun challenge” than “heart-pounding thrill”.
